Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), today announced new roles for several of its key executives. These changes are consistent with the company’s evolution into an information solutions company that helps customers innovate with information to make a difference in the world. The new roles will help Hitachi Data Systems become more competitive in its key markets, grow its solutions portfolio beyond IT infrastructure, and aggressively expand its footprint in key vertical markets including health and life sciences, energy, communications, media and entertainment, and many more. The appointments will also help drive increased alignment and globalization of HDS and Hitachi, Ltd.

Jack Domme Appointed as Corporate Officer of Hitachi, Ltd.
Hitachi Data Systems CEO Jack Domme will take on the added role of a corporate officer for Hitachi, Ltd. As the first non-Japanese corporate officer, Jack will have an expanded leadership role in further advancing the globalization efforts of Hitachi. In his role as a corporate officer Jack will report directly to Hitachi President Hiroaki Nakanishi, and will help expand the Information & Telecommunication Systems Company’s (ITSC) platform business globally. He will also accelerate the Social Innovation business of Hitachi through the development of strategies that bridge Hitachi group companies. This appointment underscores the strategic role and influence that HDS has held for years within Hitachi.

Brian Householder Appointed as Chief Operating Officer
Additional HDS appointments include Brian Householder named to the newly created position of chief operating officer (COO). In this position, Householder will oversee the daily operation of Hitachi Data Systems with direct, global responsibility for Sales, Service, Support, Marketing, Business Development, Partner Development, IT and Logistics. He is a 10 year veteran of HDS and, prior to his current role, he held multiple positions of increasing responsibility in areas such as strategic planning, partner enablement, acquisitions, and most recently, as executive vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Business Development and Partners. Householder helped lead many key initiatives at HDS, including the company strategy and direction, the BlueArc, Shoden and Archivas acquisitions, as well as improvements to marketing and partner enablement capabilities.

Michael Cremen Appointed as Executive Vice President, Global Sales
Michael Cremen has been named executive vice president, Global Sales. He joined Hitachi Data Systems in 1993 as a business analyst, and over the years he has established a solid record for building global teams and delivering strong results from a progression of sales management roles at the country, district, regional and global levels.

Randy DeMont Retiring
The executive vice president and general manager of Global Sales, Services and Support, Randy DeMont, will be retiring. DeMont has been with HDS for 12 years, and has consistently delivered double-digit, year-on-year revenue growth for the majority of his tenure as HDS outpaced the overall storage market. DeMont was also instrumental in helping lead the transformation of HDS into an information solutions company. During his tenure, DeMont played a key role in expanding the company’s software and services businesses, which together now account for nearly half of HDS overall revenue. DeMont also led the sales team in developing a solutions oriented approach that enabled the company to achieve significant growth in key vertical markets.

Kevin Eggleston Appointed as Senior Vice President, Global Verticals and Integration
In his newly created role as senior vice president of Global Verticals and Integration, Kevin Eggleston will be responsible for leading Hitachi Data Systems efforts around big data, social innovation and vertical industries. This includes driving business planning, defining solutions requirements and coordinating R&D plans for the company’s key vertical markets including health and life sciences, communications, media and entertainment, and oil and gas, among others. In addition, he will serve as the company’s key interface with Hitachi, Ltd. in identifying synergies and maximizing opportunities for alignment to drive revenue growth and globalization.

Neville Vincent Appointed as Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific
Another key appointment within the sales team is Neville Vincent taking on the role of senior vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific. He is responsible for providing regional sales direction and leadership to drive growth and expand the Hitachi Data Systems business and market share throughout Asia Pacific. Most recently, Vincent served as vice president and managing director of Hitachi Data Systems Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and managing director of Hitachi Data Systems Korea. Vincent replaces Kevin Eggleston, who has led the sales, services and support organization in APAC for the past 4 years.

“Today’s announcement marks a significant chapter in the progression of our executive team and our evolution as a company,” said Jack Domme, CEO, Hitachi Data Systems. “I am extremely grateful for all the contributions Randy DeMont has made to our company and I wish him all the best in his retirement. He has made an invaluable impact on our company that will always be remembered, respected and highly regarded. I also want to congratulate Brian, Michael, Kevin and Neville on their new roles, which will be pivotal in our efforts to expand our portfolio of information solutions, aggressively pursue new market opportunities and continue to work more closely with the Hitachi family of companies.”
