Seven additional GM models rank among top three in their segments
General Motors ranked highest in four segments in the J.D Power and Associates 2013 Vehicle Dependability Study. Award recipients in their respective segments are:
- Chevrolet Camaro – Midsize Sporty
- Chevrolet Tahoe – Large Crossover/SUV
- GMC Sierra HD – Large Pickup
- Buick Lucerne – Large Car
GM placed 11 models in the top three of their segments. The Camaro received the highest dependability award in its segment in its first year on sale. The study tracks reliability of 2010 model year vehicles during the third year of the ownership.
The GMC Sierra HD, Sierra LD and Chevrolet Avalanche swept the top 3 positions in the Large Pickup segment for dependability. These three models also swept the top 3 in their segment in the 2012 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study.
“As GM heads into a big year of new model launches, we believe this tells us that we engineer and manufacture our cars and trucks so that they are reliable and last a long time,” said Alicia Boler-Davis, vice president Global Quality and U.S. Customer Experience. “Outstanding, dependable vehicles combined with an exceptional customer experience are the cornerstones of our commitment to provide the best overall ownership experience in the industry.”
