IC BusTM will demonstrate the Gasoline-Powered CE School Bus at the School Transportation News (STN) Expo Conference and Trade Show in Reno. This bus is designed to make ownership more affordable and to provide easier maintenance for school districts and contractors, and will utilize the purpose built Power Solutions International’s (PSI) modern and highly-efficient 8.8L V8 gasoline engine paired with commercial grade transmissions.

“This product is another example of our commitment to bringing innovative and affordable solutions to the school bus market,” said Trish Reed, vice president and general manager, IC Bus. “We’ve listened to our dealers and customers and they are asking for powertrain options that can deliver the same safety, reliability and durability as with our entire product line-up.”

This CE gasoline-powered school bus utilizes much of the same proven technology and engine architecture as the propane-autogas powered bus. “We are thrilled to show the bus at STN Expo and look forward to announcing full scale production at a later date,” said Reed.

IC Bus representatives will be onsite at the company’s STN Expo booth in the Silver State Pavilion to answer questions from conference participants. STN participants can test drive the gasoline-powered Type C bus on Tuesday, July 26 from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m. and on Wednesday, July 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
