High capacity vehicles cut CO2 emissions, and could be deployed now, says ACEA

ACEA wants to bring high capacity transport back onto the agenda, following trials that have demonstrated potential for tackling CO2 emissions. By Xavier Boucherat

The matter of high capacity goods vehicles has surfaced again, following the release of a white paper by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). The organisation is calling for the introduction of a ‘High Capacity Transport’ (HCT) system across the bloc that would allow high capacity vehicles (HCV) to travel over borders unrestricted by legislation.
