Ford’s stand at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show offers clear insight into the OEM’s European strategy for the coming year and beyond, not only underlining a focus on high performance, with its new RS and the GT supercar, but also a sharpening focus on efficiency. The latter, in particular, is a result of increasingly stringent European emissions and fuel economy legislation, and the European Commission's 2025 target for OEMs to further cut CO2 output. An important feature of the Ford stand is the Ford Performance line-up for Europe, which includes the Focus ST, Focus ST Diesel, and Fiesta ST.
Automotive World spoke exclusively to Jim Farley at Ford’s Eve of Show event, where he explained Ford’s emissions strategy going forward, as well as the key differences between the European and US markets for the OEM.
