The 2017 Infiniti Q60 sports coupe made its national debut at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto today, combining expressive design with exhilarating performance and dynamics. The bold exterior expresses a powerful elegance, maintaining the bold lines and sharp angles of the original concept, first shown in Canada at the CIAS one year ago.

“This third generation of Infiniti’s iconic Q60 premium sports coupe is the car that premium drivers in Canada have been waiting for,” said Stephen Lester, managing director of Infiniti Canada.”With its luxurious lines, powerful character and innovative drivetrain, the Q60 is an evocative addition to our line-up that demonstrates why Infiniti is one of the fastest-growing automotive brands in the premium segment.”

Innovative drivetrain technologies deliver a powerful driving experience, bringing the Q60’s dynamic promise to life. The high performance 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine from the new and exclusive “VR” powertrain family continues the brand’s longstanding heritage of six-cylinder powertrains production. The new V6 engine comes in two power ratings: 300 horsepower and 400 horsepower – with the latter offering one of the best power-to-efficiency ratios in the sports coupe class. Also offered is a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 208 horsepower.

Power is channeled through rear-biased Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, providing enhanced stability and road holding in low-grip conditions. Q60 offers a suite of enhanced safety features including Intelligent Cruise Control with Distance Control Assist, Forward Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection, Direct Adaptive Steering and Digital Dynamic Suspension for optimized personalization.

Also on display is the 2016 Infiniti Q50, which was developed from the outset to offer daring design, dynamic performance and class-leading technologies. The Q50 is being launched for the 2016 model year with three new advanced powertrain options, including the 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo with 400 and 300 horsepower options, and four cylinder, two-litre turbo, all offered on the 2017 Q60. A 360-horsepower hybrid powertrain option combines a 3.5-litre V6 and a compact laminated lithium-ion battery, with an innovative one-motor, two-clutch control.

“The Infiniti Q50 achieved its best-ever sales record in Canada in 2015 with 3,295 vehicles sold. For 2016, we’re taking the Q50 experience to a whole new level with a number of performance and dynamic upgrades that deliver an even more empowering and rewarding drive,” said Lester.”Our evocative line-up, demonstrated in the luxurious lines of the Q60 and the quiet power of the Q50, exemplifies the next-generation engineering and design language that has become synonymous with the Infiniti brand.”

Infiniti also showcased the 2017 QX30, its first entry into the luxury compact crossover segment. Infiniti’s design-led approach to product development is exemplified through its highly-sculpted exterior, unique crossover stance and asymmetric cabin design. In addition to its striking appearance, the QX30 offers an elevated ride height, confidence-inspiring handling, and a “go-anywhere” attitude. The base, Sport and All-Wheel Drive versions will each have unique front and rear fascia, wheel design and exterior themes, and will be at Infiniti retailers in mid-2016.
