Musk makes latest bid for US$56bn pay amid investor backlash

Tesla’s Elon Musk has launched his latest appeal for the controversial pay package while investors criticise his leadership absence. By Stewart Burnett

Tesla Chief Executive has kicked off his latest attempt to have his US$56bn pay package reinstated after previously being rescinded by a Delaware judge in January 2024. In a new appeal, his legal representatives claimed that the pay package resulted in unprecedented growth for the automaker, but was nevertheless determined by the Lower Court of Chancery to be unfair to shareholders.
