Yogesh Umbarkar, General Manager, Ricardo Software, has been confirmed as a speaker at Automotive Megatrends India 2015. He will serve as a moderator in the commercial vehicle lightweighting & manufacturing and car powertrain tracks.
Umbarkar is responsible for Ricardo’s Advanced Powertrain Simulations Business in India. He has over 12 years of diverse experience including manufacturing, CAE/CFD, technical support, sales and marketing mainly in Automotive R&D. He has worked with companies like Caepro Technologies, Cummins, L&T and Owens Corning.
In his previous role as an Engineering Director at Caepro, he has led many successful powertrain technology consulting projects and was instrumental in developing simulation capabilities as well as creating new opportunities for the software and consulting business. While at Cummins Research and Technology India, he was leading the Power Cylinder CAE supporting the virtual validation activities for all the Cummins businesses worldwide.
He has keen interest in simulations and has good understanding of powertrain design and simulation activities happening across Indian automotive industry.
