In-car audio entertainment specialist, Pioneer has added two new models to its DAB range to further support the UK-wide push for digital radio.
Pioneer has launched a single-din and double-din DAB head unit to follow up its first ever all-in-one DAB unit, the DEH-X6500DAB. The single-din, DEH-X8500DAB and double-din, touch-screen AVH-X3500DAB both come with DAB+ and Parrot Bluetooth technology as well as a whole host of other features.
As well as offering a wide range of digital radio stations, both units come with Time Shift functionality, which allows pausing and rewinding of live DAB radio in the same way that people can with television.

With digital radio becoming increasingly popular in the home it is natural to make the progression to bring it into vehicles and get the most out of the in-car entertainment unit.”
The DEH-X8500DAB and AVH-X3500DAB models incorporate a Parrot Bluetooth module as well as a DAB + radio tuner, to provide high-quality digital sound through improved signal reception and easy programme selection. In addition to crystal clear reception, the DAB tuner lets the user Time Shift radio by pausing radio playback and resuming listening later.
The AVH-X3500DAB also has AppRadio Mode, allowing the user to connect their smartphone to the unit and use selected compatible apps on the 6.1” touch-screen. In addition it is fixed navigation-ready and has a rear USB input to keep the dash as hassle-free as possible. This is the first time Pioneer has manufactured a double-din navigation and DAB unit.
Mixtrax EZ comes included which takes the music from an iPod, iPhone, or USB device and plays it back with added transitions and effects. This creates a seamless mix of the user’s music library in a style similar to a live DJ, bringing the club experience into the vehicle.
Renowned for its powerful sound reproduction, Pioneer has fitted the unit with the celebrated MOSFET 50W x 4 amplifier set-up, a 5-Band Graphic Equaliser and Advanced Sound Retriever ( ASR ) technology which restores any musical detail lost in the creation of compressed music files and also works via Bluetooth. Should extra power be required, all the units come with pre-outs to enable connecting additional amplifiers, speakers and subwoofers as simple as possible.
The DEH-X8500DAB and AVH-X3500DAB are both available now from authorised Pioneer retailers.
