From withstanding to avoiding crashes: shift shows up in NCAP results

When it comes to safety, the focus is shifting from the ability to withstand a crash and protect occupants to avoiding it altogether. The European branch of the New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) takes a close look at both aspects when publishing its crash protection ratings, but the latter area is taking on an increasingly important role.
