Transport emissions make up slightly more than 20% of greenhouse gas emissions, with freight contributing 30% to this figure. The Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme (LCRS), managed by the Freight Transport Association, records, reports, and reduces carbon emissions from logistics. The scheme was founded in 2009 by 12 founding FTA members, and as of April 2014 has 97 members. The 2014 Logistics Carbon Review has recently been released, which analyses carbon emissions in fleets and incorporates the Fourth Annual Report of the LCRS.
