“Historic” reforms proposed for US driverless car and cyber security protocols

The US government will work in partnership with road safety agencies, OEMs and industry specialists to speed up autonomous driving and cyber security developments. By Freddie Holmes

A US$4bn initiative to drastically ramp up efforts for autonomous driving and cyber security has been included in the US 2017 budget proposal. Such investment would see “real world” pilot programmes to test connected and autonomous vehicles over ten years.
