BYD August sales flat while Chinese competitors surge

BYD’s prospects of meeting its ambitious target of 5.5 million global sales in 2025 could be starting to dwindle. By Stewart Burnett

BYD's new energy vehicle (NEV) sales stagnated in August at 373,626 units, representing only a marginal 0.15% year-over-year increase. The Chinese automaker's commercial vehicle segment also declined during the month declined 4.7% to just 2,125 units while production volumes dipped to 353,090 units, down 3.78% Y.o.Y.
