BMW focuses on software to reverse delivery decline in China

As deliveries continue to decline in China, BMW might lean on smart tech and AI to help it compete and regain ground. By Will Girling

BMW delivered more than 1.2 million vehicles globally in H1 2025, a decline of 0.5% year-on-year. In a 31 July statement, Chief Executive Oliver Zipse maintained that the company is on track to hit its financial targets "despite ongoing tariff uncertainty and fluctuations in the Chinese market."
