Lu to present technical paper on functional transparent display coatings

PPG Industries’ (NYSE:PPG) industrial coatings business will exhibit its full array of conductive and transparent coatings at Vehicle Displays 2015 during the Detroit Chapter of the Society for Information Display (SID) Annual Symposium and Exhibition in Dearborn, Michigan, Oct. 22-23.

In addition, as part of the event’s technical program, Songwei Lu, PPG research associate, industrial coatings, will present a paper titled “Functional Transparent Coatings for Displays” on Friday, Oct. 23, at 1:30 p.m. The paper examines how optical functional coatings can be spray-deposited on pretreated glass surfaces and cured at temperatures as low as 150 C (302 F) to maintain cleanability, durability and wear resistance.

Visitors to the PPG booth will learn about PPG’s state-of-the-art conductive coatings, including safe-on-substrate (SOS) alcohol-solvent-based coatings, Neptune Z Series water-based conductive paints, polymer thick film (PTF) ink products and thermo-setting electrostatic discharge (ESD) coatings. PPG anti-smudge (anti-fingerprint), anti-glare, anti-reflective and low-reflective coatings for display glass also will be highlighted.

The Vehicle Displays Annual Symposium and Exhibition attracts scientific, engineering and automotive manufacturing leaders from around the world for two days of technical knowledge sharing and advancement of in-car electronic-display-related technologies.
