iGO primo nextgen combines flexibility, connectivity and a fresh automotive HMI design for a new level of usability

NNG iGO primo nextgenNNG announced its latest automotive flagship software at Telematics Detroit 2014: iGO primo nextgen. Evolving from NNG’s nearly 10 years of industry experience and projects for over 30 car brands, iGO primo nextgen enables tier one suppliers and OEMs to provide a new paradigm of navigation experience to their users.

iGO primo nextgen is an all-in-one navigation solution which meets the wide range of industry expectations that are being placed across different car segments and in different regions all across the world. This new software product incorporates NNG’s latest innovations and technologies from years of research and development.

Human Machine Interface (HMI) Design for Automotive Use
Designed for use in a dashboard environment, the software’s HMI opens a new era of usability and reduced driver distraction. With fewer menu screens and easier command options, the consolidated User Interface provides an HMI simplicity that drivers have never experienced before.

New Standard in Flexibility
iGO primo nextgen supports multimodal data entry, including touch screen, rotary controller, and voice control, as well as a combination of these technologies.

“We believe there’s no ultimate answer to the question of which input method is the future. All of them will be utilized. For small cars, touch screens are suitable since you’re close to the screen. For larger vehicles, rotary controller works better,” said Péter Balogh, CEO at NNG LLC. “We enable our partners to choose the right mix of technologies for every model of their vehicle brands.”

The software’s new adaptive HMI allows for easy customization and reduced development time. Screens, layout, and buttons automatically adapt to different screen sizes and resolutions. This new feature allows partners to rescale their tailor-made software solutions powered by NNG to fit in any car model for any car segment. The platform-independent technology supports all major operating systems, making it easily adaptable for a wide range of smartphones and tablets.

Connecting To the Digital Hub of Life
iGO primo nextgen makes connectivity in the car feasible, affordable, and available throughout the life-span of a vehicle. Aggregated from multiple content providers, the range of Live services includes local search, fuel prices, parking, weather and traffic information, and more.

This software is NNG’s first product for business partners that is readily capable of expanding to the NavFusion® feature set. NavFusion® delivers headunit connectivity, content updates, and data synchronization through seamless integration with the driver’s smartphone. NNG announced NavFusion® in 2013 to help bridge the gap between the life cycles of smartphones and headunits. This unique smartphone integration technology has been celebrated by partners around the world as a breakthrough solution to make the connected car a reality.

iGO primo nextgen will enter the global market in new 2015 car models. It will be available to automotive partners starting in summer 2014.
NNG’s navigation solutions are currently available in 186 countries and in more than 50 languages. To provide local solutions on a global scale, maps and other content are aggregated from over 80 providers.
