25 experts from the courier and parcel express delivery sector name the Iveco Daily “Best KEP Transporter 2015” after direct back-to-back comparison drives in competitor vehicles, and also gave the Daily Hi-Matic the “Innovation Award”.

Few industries place as much demand on their vehicles as the courier and parcel express delivery sectors – which have heaped praise upon Iveco’s Daily after a group of 25 experienced staff working in the sector put Daily to the test against the best of the competition.

The group went on to name Daily their “Best KEP Transporter 2015”, whilst Iveco’s advanced eight-speed Hi-Matic automated transmission won the highly sought after “Innovation Award”.

The industry specialists recognised Daily for combining the most accessible loading space on the market with a generous dimensioned cab and new levels of driver comfort – delivered thanks to a comprehensively restyled interior in the latest generation model, which brings luxury car comfort to a light commercial vehicle.

Key to Daily’s success was also the new Hi-Matic gearbox, offering drivers and fleets best-in-class flexibility, efficiency, fuel economy and driving comfort. Developed with ZF, the Hi-Matic is the first eight-speed automated transmission to be offered in a vehicle range in this class. It can change gear quicker and more precisely than the best driver on the planet, needing less than 200 milliseconds for a gear shift when greater acceleration is required. The “Innovation Award” confirms the Daily Hi-Matic as providing absolute driving pleasure.

Judges put a Daily 35S13 through its paces as part of the multi-vehicle appraisal, commenting that the Hi-Matic transmission was outstanding – and pointing out that thanks to the lack of a clutch pedal altogether, less is definitely more.

The Daily has been available in more than 8,000 possible configurations since its launch in 2014. It can be mission-matched for an extensive array of different applications and customers, with a wide choice of gross vehicle weights, wheelbases, rear overhangs, engines, gearboxes and loadspace volumes.
