Following high demand from the automotive industry, Dürr is further expanding its business with software for production operations. In the BRIC states the EcoEMOS supervisory control technology software has been ordered in around 90% of all the Group’s major plant engineering projects in the last five years. In China EcoEMOS is in use by all but one of the carmakers who use Dürr systems for painting and assembly operations. Worldwide over 60 car plants in 20 countries are using the program for the overall control and monitoring of production processes.

Dürr is the only manufacturer of paintshop systems who offers its very own supervisory control system software. The Group can call on its expertise in automotive production as it further develops the program. Ralf W. Dieter, CEO of Dürr AG: “We are further expanding our software provision in light of the advancing digitization of production. Compared with other software providers who service different sectors, we are able to address the special requirements of the automotive industry faster and more precisely”.

Among the carmakers who use EcoEMOS in multiple plants are Volkswagen, Hyundai and Ford. EcoEmos is also increasingly being used as a shop-floor IT solution covering the entire production process for the bodies-in-white, paintshop and vehicle final assembly.

Operators can use the software, for example, to check the system status (temperature, energy and material consumption etc.), analyze productivity or control model sequences. Dürr transacts sales worth double-digit millions of euros with EcoEMOS. In future, the supervisory control system software is also to be offered increasingly to truck manufacturers, the aviation industry and to producers of engines and gearboxes.
