Comau, the worldwide leader in automatic and flexible manufacturing systems, participates in the China International Industry Fair with its robots for the first time and offers something new and distinctive to visitors. Comau showcases:

The latest innovation, AMICO

AMICO, a system comprised of two sets of Comau Racer3 robots, features multi-function grippers to imitate human hands gripping workpieces and realizes corresponding adjustment through feedback of sensors. It can realize functions such as gripping, handling, assembly, and detection of products.

Racer7-1.4 and robot bending work station

The robot bending work station eliminates troubles such as work injuries and intensive work loads, while enhancing production efficiency.

The Comau Racer7-1.4 robot features a payload of 7 kg, maximum reach of 1.4m, and repeatability of 0.05mm. Based on excellent, high-speed moving performance, it effectively bends sheet metal.

The system consists of robot, gripper, bending machine, disassembly table, overlapping detection, alignment table, and electrical control system. The robot grabs workpieces through grippers and completes bending of products by a series of actions including: picking, detection, alignment, and stacking.

Racer3, Racer999 and 3C visual detection system

The new Comau Racer3 robot features a payload of 3 kg,maximum reach of 630 mm and repeatability of 0.03mm. It is perfect for applications including assembly, detection and spot gluing in the electronics field.

Comau Racer999 robot features a payload of 7kg and a maximum reach of 999mm. When its fifth axis is in a vertical state, the maximum load of the robot reaches 10kg. It can be used in applications including material handling and sorting with high efficiency.

With high precision and flexible moving performance, Comau robots can realize material handling and detection within compact space.

Racer 7-1.4 and basketball cell

As the first robot of the Comau Racer family, Racer7-1.4 competed against a member of the 2014 NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs, Marco Belinelli, in a 3 point shooting challenge. It will interact with visitors again at CIIF 2015.

Racer7-1.4 features a payload of 7 kg, maximum reach of 1.4m, and repeatability of ±0.05mm.It has been widely used in fields of handling, machine loading/unloading and laser.

NJ 60-2.2 off-set and robot burnishing work station

The fully-automated robot burnishing work station applies the Comau NJ60-2.2 off-set robot with a payload of 60kg, maximum reach of 2.2m and repeatability of 0.05mm. Its fifth axis is offset structure. Its movement scale can reach ±2700° and fulfill special and difficult requirements for burnishing path. The moving program of robot can be realized by off-line programming.
The work station consists of robot, product gripper, buffing machine, drawing machine and polishing waxing machine in order to realize fully automated collaboration with multiple processes. The function to burnish and polish parts is demonstrated by using Comau robots, demonstrating the high degree of automation of Comau robotics in the application.

NJ4 220 and FFS (Flow Form Screw-driving)

The system, developed jointly by Comau and DEPRAG, can realize tightening and connecting for different types of sheet metal parts with high strength and no pre-punching holes, and ensure process reliability. For example, sheet metal connection of body in white may apply FFS to complete mutual tightening connection between aluminum and steel components so as to realize a lightweight body and enhance automotive power performance while largely lowering fuel consumption of cars.

The NJ4 220-2.7 robot features a payload of 220kg, maximum reach of 2.7m, and repeatability of 0.08mm. It can be used for many applications including handling, machine loading/unloading, assembly, and spot welding.
