The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is pleased to announce the election of Jack Salzwedel as the new chairman of its Board of Directors. Salzwedel is chairman, chief executive officer and president of American Family Mutual Insurance Company. He succeeds W. Neal Menefee, senior vice president, Rockingham Group, who served as IIHS chairman during 2015 and will continue to serve as a Board member.
“IIHS has helped drive tremendous improvements in highway safety through its research and ratings programs, and I am proud to serve as chairman of its Board of Directors,” Salzwedel says. “I look forward to a productive year working with my colleagues to support IIHS as it advances its mission to reduce deaths and injuries from crashes on our roads.”

The new chairman-elect is Floyd M. Yager, senior vice president, chief data officer, Allstate Insurance Group. The new vice chairman is William L. Windsor, associate vice president, office of consumer safety, Nationwide.
