Michelin’s July data points to ongoing divergence of major markets

Michelin has released tyre sales and shipment data for July for Europe, North America and Brazil, and in doing so has confirmed the ongoing divergence in fortunes between the three. For OEM shipments, Michelin recorded a year-on-year increase of 7% in Europe and 3% in North America but continued to reflect a dire Brazilian market with a 46% decline year-on-year. Shipments to aftermarket vendors rose by 2% in North America and 1% in Europe but fell back by 10% in Brazil.
