Mack makes US$30m investment in powertrain verticalisation

Mack’s recent investment and new axle production line integration is a sign of things to come

Mack Trucks’ plant in Hagerstown, Maryland, has assembled powertrain components since 1961. It was recently upgraded in a US$30m investment by the company, with the installation of a new production line for heavy-duty drive axles, an upgrade to the engine assemble process and the centralisation of aftermarket core warehousing operations. Mack says it is now able to build engines, transmissions and axles at the facility.
