Interview: Tim Yerdon, Global Director of Innovation and Design, Visteon

Tim Yerdon outlines Visteon’s new Fusion and the supplier's main focuses at International CES 2015

The 2015 International CES is fast approaching, and so too are visions for what the automotive landscape in 2015 is going to look like. Keeping up with consumer electronics in terms of development and making sure the infotainment is of consumer satisfaction is a problem currently faced by OEMs and suppliers alike, and many are heading towards seamless and updateable human machine interaction (HMI) experiences for their customers.

One supplier focusing on this trend at CES in particular is Visteon, which has launched a first-to-market solution called Fusion, which integrates different domains on a system level by considering an optimised hardware and software approach – making it simpler for OEMs to update certain aspects of the system, such as the infotainment platform, without affecting the rest of the system.

As Global Director of Innovation and Design for Visteon Corporation, Tim Yerdon is responsible for tracking and analysing these quickly approaching market trends, listening to the voice of the consumer and translating that into the car. Automotive World spoke to Yerdon about Visteon’s upcoming developments, and the supplier's main focuses at CES.
