Hesai to expand plants after US$531m HK debut

Proceeds from the listing will be split between R&D, new factories in China and abroad, and working capital for global expansion. By Stewart Burnett

LiDAR giant Hesai has raised HK$4.2bn (US$531m) in its Hong Kong debut—the largest secondary listing by a US-traded Chinese company since 2021. The manufacturer said that roughly half of the proceeds would be used towards research and development, with an additional third earmarked for expanding manufacturing both in China and overseas.
