Electric vehicle (EV) volumes have consistently fallen short of targets as the bulk of consumers and fleet purchasers stick with the tried and true internal combustion engine (ICE) technology. Vehicle manufacturers have been voicing concerns that the upcoming emissions standards will be hard - if not impossible - to meet without a sizeable jump in EV uptake. They are rapidly expanding their model offering, but that alone may not be enough to boost the numbers.
