Electrification won’t be a linear journey for freight

The International Transport Forum estimates that trade-related freight transports account for 7% of the world’s total CO2 emissions. European and North American governments have established dates in the early to mid-2030s from which all new passenger vehicle sales must be zero emissions, and the heavy commercial sector is likely to follow. As such, the gauntlet has been thrown down to electrify freight as soon as possible.
