Listening to the wants and needs of the driver is vital if OEMs hope to succeed in the connected car. Competing with consumer electronics is one thing, but if OEMs don’t satisfy consumer connectivity requirements, buyers are ever more likely to purchase a car of a different brand.
Compass Intelligence, a consulting firm which specialises in IT, Telecom, Mobile and M2M, has released a report entitled ‘In-Vehicle Wireless Broadband-Connected Vehicle Survey of Consumers'. Conducted online using Compass Intelligence's own ‘Thought Leaders Panel’ and opt-in email lists, the survey measured responses from 1,320 people who drove a vehicle and owned a smartphone, and explored the wants and needs of drivers and passengers around the future of in-vehicle wireless broadband services.
