A closer look at the Kia Soul EV

Automotive World test drives Kia's battery EV strategy

The latest OEM to release a small battery EV is Kia, whose long-awaited Soul EV is the first battery-electric vehicle to be sold globally by the Korean company. With a range of 132 miles (212km) and a UK price tag of £24,995 (approximately US$39,500) before incentives, the Soul EV goes head-to-head with the likes of the Nissan Leaf, Volkswagen’s electric Golf and Ford’s electric Focus, as well as the BMW i3, to compete for the attention of the global EV market. Automotive World test drove the Soul EV at its launch in London to find out what makes the vehicle stand out from others that have already had success in the same segment.
