In-car gadgets – even those deemed safe – blamed for increase in road casualties

BCA research focused on drivers’ perceptions about in-car technology while driving, recently found that 95% of respondents had seen other motorists using a hand-held mobile phone whilst driving

Recent findings from the Department for Transport (DfT) have concluded that the number of deaths and serious injuries on Britain’s roads rose by 4% to nearly 25,000 in 2014, with some parties suggesting that in-car technology is distracting drivers behind the wheel.
