From buses to trucks: Volvo leverages electrification expertise

Volvo Buses has sold more than 4,000 electrified buses since 2010; its sister company wants to take that expertise and apply it to trucks. By Megan Lampinen

Electrifying heavy vehicles like buses and trucks carries with it a host of challenges, particularly around cost, performance and charging times. For Volvo Trucks, expertise in one segment can be spread to others. The OEM has been building experience in the electrification of buses over the past few years and is now taking that knowledge into the trucking and construction industries.
