BMW’s driverless car will be in showrooms by 2021

With the help of Intel and Mobileye, BMW will bring a fully autonomous car into series production in five years, writes Freddie Holmes

On 20 June, Mobileye made a bold statement – it would supply the core components of a fully autonomous car by 2021. This was not wishful thinking either, as contracts had been secured with an unnamed OEM. The wraps are now off, and the supplier will work alongside Intel to bring a fully autonomous BMW to market by 2021.
