China: GYMCL supplies Hangzhou CNG bus engines

China Yuchai International Ltd announced on 12 October that the Nanning Public Transport Corporation had accepted its subsidiary Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co. (GYMC)’s YC6G270 diesel engines for use in 100 of its new double-decker buses manufactured by Xiamen Golden Dragon Co., Ltd.

China Yuchai also confirmed that GYMCL’s Euro V YC6L240N natural gas engines had been fitted by the Hangzhou Public Transport Corporation to 33 new buses in the Xihu district of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. This was the first batch of Euro V-compliant natural gas engines being used in Hangzhou’s public transport and in Zhejiang province as a whole. The YC6L240N natural gas engine is a 6-cylinder engine with a displacement of 8.4 litres. The YC6G270 diesel engine is a turbo-charged, 6-cylinder unit with a displacement of 7.8 litres.

China Yuchai International, through GYMCL, engages in the manufacture, assembly, and sale of a range of light-duty, medium-sized and heavy-duty diesel engines for construction equipment, trucks, buses and cars in China. GYMCL also produces diesel power generators, which are mostly used in the construction and mining industries. In 2011, GYMCL sold 510,777 diesel engines in all.
