Data should be shared to ensure safety progress, says Volvo Cars

With the number of connected cars on the world’s roads rising rapidly, the amount of data produced by the automotive industry is also growing. According to research from the Japanese tech company Hitachi, the connected car will soon be able to upload 25 gigabytes of data to the Cloud every hour, which is equivalent to around a dozen HD movies.

Volvo Cars believes that much of this data uploaded to the Cloud should be made available to the public and the authorities in the hope of improving road safety.
