120,000 tonnes of lubricants to meet demand in Indonesia

Shell recently started production of passenger car, heavy-duty vehicle and motorbike lubricants at its newest plant in Asia

Shell has opened its latest lubricant blending plant in Asia. Located at the Marunda Centre, Indonesia, it has become the largest internationally operated lubricant plant in the country, sitting on 75,000 square metres of land.

With size comes capacity. Its annual production output is 120,000 tonnes (136 million litres) of finished lubricants. This figure, says Mark Gainsborough, Executive Vice President of Shell Lubricants, will be significant as the company hopes to keep up with domestic demand.
