Setting safety standards: a delicate balance between positive results and industry burden

Brexit aside, the UK will continue to shape European transport policy in the years to come. That is the assertion from Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) in the UK, which has been granted the solus award of the latest European Commission (EC) Automotive Safety Framework. Under the agreement, worth about €3m (US$3.16m) over a four-year period, experts from TRL will assist EC policymakers in setting new safety regulations.
