The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released an advisory on October 20, urging a response to recall notices to replace defective airbags. Takata is taking this issue extremely seriously, and will cooperate fully with the NHTSA and the vehicle manufacturers conducting repairs.

Additionally, the product replacement costs regarding the 4.74 million vehicles subject to this advisory are included in the provision for product warranties in Takata’s consolidated results for the first quarter period of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015, announced on August 7, 2014, and newly arising costs are expected to very limited.
