This position paper covers frequency bands for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication, collectively known as V2X communication.
The paper addresses frequency bands for both short-range ad hoc communication (for example ITS-G5 and LTE-V2X) and long-range cellular connectivity such as the upcoming 5G standard (ie communication relying on coverage of base stations).
Frequency bands at large, both for sensors as well as for V2V and V2I communication, are key to realising cooperative, connected and automated mobility (CCAM).
