Automotive World is delighted to confirm Paco Soler, Vice President European Operations, Urban Science, as a speaker at Automotive Megatrends Europe 2014, which takes place at the Steigenberger Grandhotel in Brussels on 10 and 11 September 2014.
Francisco (Paco) Soler is responsible for Urban Science’s operations in Europe and India. He oversees seven offices, setting the direction for each to achieve targeted revenue growth, profitability, and client satisfaction. Since his promotion to this position in 2007, Paco has led Europe to achieve the greatest improvements in all three target areas since Urban Science entered the region 20 years ago.
He joined Urban Science in 1992, holding various positions in both the United States and Europe, including managing director of both the Frankfurt and Madrid offices. As managing director of Madrid, Soler simultaneously grew revenues and profitability, increased customer satisfaction, and diversified the company’s product offerings.
Prior to Urban Science, Soler served for four years as Director of Corporate Initiatives and Director of Quality and Six Sigma at General Electric.
“The conference name, Automotive Megatrends, says it all. The subject matter where we will be participating is called ‘Retail (R)evolution,’ so our role is to contribute a point of view of changing demographics and how that may impact the expectations on the way cars are to be bought and serviced. Our expectation is to learn what disruptive changes may be upcoming and how those may affect the way dealer networks and car distribution in general operate, so that we can consult with our clients better to help them resolve their mission-critical challenges. In addition to providing our viewpoint, we recently conducted a survey in the UK exploring these new demographic trends and would like to also present these results.
“I will be speaking mainly about the arrival of Generation Y to the markets. The average car buyer in the UK is 45-years-old, and Generation Y car buyers are on average of 33-years-old right now, which is to say that they have not yet become the main group of shoppers in the market. They will eventually become the largest market of car buyers, and what they expect from the car-purchasing process may be very different from what manufacturers and dealers are able to provide now. I will be exploring what some of those expectations and trends are.”
Organised by Automotive World, Automotive Megatrends Europe 2014 is a two-day, multi-stream conference focusing on Commercial Vehicles and Passenger Cars. Soler is confirmed as a speaker on the Passenger Car day, 11 September, in the Retail (R)evolution stream.
