Holden is pleased to announce George Svigos has been appointed to the role of Executive Director – Corporate Affairs, effective 18 November, 2013.

George has an impressive breadth and depth of experience and most recently held the position of General Manager of Public Affairs for Energy Australia. In this role he led internal and external communications, media relations and community relations.

Prior to this, George was Head of Corporate Affairs for Personal Banking at the National Australia Bank and Head of Communications for the Office of the Premier of Victoria.

Whilst in government, George also held the role of Chief of Staff to the Minister for Manufacturing. His strong knowledge and expertise in government and stakeholder relations will be an invaluable asset to his position at Holden.

George will report directly to Holden Chairman and Managing Director Mike Devereux and will become a member of the Holden Senior Leadership Team. George’s contact are included below:

Further to George’s appointment, there have been a number of changes to the Holden Corporate Affairs team structure and personnel. Below is a clarification of roles and responsibilities across the Corporate Affairs team to assist you with media enquiries:

Kate Lonsdale, National Manager – Product Communications. Kate has returned from maternity leave and resumes the lead for all product communications for Holden. Kate will report to George Svigos.  Contacts:kate.lonsdale@gm.com, (03) 9647 2293 or 0409 629 608

Sean Poppitt, Manager – Corporate Communications. Sean has relocated to Melbourne to take up this new role. Sean will have responsibility for all corporate and manufacturing communications and will remain the primary point of contact for South Australian media until a new Corporate Affairs Manager for South Australia is announced.
