On the night of March 9 Chile Time (the morning of March 10 Beijing Time), Chery held the global initial launch conference of Arrizo 5 at Espacio Riesco Hotel in Santiago, capital of Chile. Liu Rutao, counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Chile; He Xiaoqing, vice president of Chery and president of Chery International, as well as representatives of Chery’s distributors in Central and South America, representatives of Chinese media, representatives of Chilean media and representatives of some customers attended and witnessed the great event. Also present were Juan Eduardo Errazuriz, chairman of renowned Chilean business group-SK and Jaime Gordebne, chairman of renowned Spanish business group-Berge. Both groups are the shareholders of Chery’s Chilean partner–Skberge.

Angela Prieto, a celebrated Chilean tri-circle star and Chery’s endorser in Chile, hosted the launch conference. During the launch conference, Chery’s design director James Hope introduced the design concept and features of Arrizo 5; and Hugo Castro, general manager of Chery’s Chilean, introduced the marketing plan of Arrizo 5 in Chile.

This time Chery will launch four editions of Arrizo 5 in Chile: 1.5L MT Basic, 1.5L MT Comfort, 1.5T MT Luxury and 1.5L CVT Comfort. Their official guiding prices range from 7,990,000 pesos to 10,490,000 pesos (approximately RMB 76,800 to 100,800).

As a competitive new-generation model targeting the global market, Arrizo 5 features trendy and dynamic design, superior five-star safety configuration, agreeable power maneuverability, comfortable and quiet& super large space, as well as smart technology configuration pleasant to sensory organs. To meet the new demands of consumers in different countries for smart interconnection, Arrizo 5 is equipped with the latest Cloudrive2.0 intelligent cloud entertainment system and contains a 4G wireless card. The system integrates functions such as mobile mapping, mobile remote control, online cloud music play and voice control, to accomplish full-time interconnection.

Referring to the reason for launching Arrizo 5 first in Chile, president of Chery International Mr. He said, “Due to the strong desire of the global market for Arrizo 5, Chery chose to launch it worldwide simultaneously, to bring it into the market rapidly. Central and South America is one of Chery’s most important overseas market. As a developed economy in Latin America, Chile is a representative in this region, so Chery chose Chile to launch Arrizo 5 in first.”

“As Chery’s partner in Chile, Skberge has operated Chery brand in Chile for 10 years. By introducing its best products to Chile and shaping its brand in an all-round manner, Chery has rivaled Korean and American brands,” said Castro.

Since exporting vehicles for the first time in 2001, Chery has been China’s largest vehicle exporter for 13 consecutive years with cumulative sales of nearly 1.2 million units, accounting for 38 percent of China’s total exports. “As a representative of Chinese auto brands, Chery’s first overseas global launching event for the new product marks that it has entered the stage of “Globalization 2.0″ characterized by production and marketing globalization, and that its product quality has been up to international standards,” said Jin Yibo, president assistant of Chery.

According to the source, after its initial launch in Chile, Arrizo 5 will be launched in China, the Middle East and North Africa successively. It is expected to be launched in China on March 18.
