Alpine Electronics, Inc. today announced that it will offer aftermarket products compatible with Apple CarPlay, further enhancing the connectivity between the iPhone® and Alpine’s in-vehicle environment. Alpine is one of the first aftermarket manufacturers to announce that it will have products compatible with CarPlay.

The Alpine audio/video system will seamlessly incorporate CarPlay to extend your iPhone experience to the vehicle. Users can easily control CarPlay from Alpine’s large, in-dash touch screen, or just activate Siri® to enjoy CarPlay without distraction. CarPlay enables drivers to seamlessly make calls, use Maps, access music or receive and send messages. Using a Lighting connector, CarPlay works with iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5 running the latest version of iOS 7.

“For more than a decade, we have worked with Apple to produce products that integrate their technology into our car entertainment and information products. Our new CarPlay-enabled products represent the next step in providing users a seamless iPhone experience in the vehicle,” said Hirofumi Morioka, Alpine’s Senior Director and CTO.

Alpine’s first CarPlay compatible products will be available for the American and European aftermarket later in 2014. Model numbers and pricing will be announced at the time of launch.
