The current status of operations of Aisin Seiki and our affiliated subsidiaries in the Kumamoto region, Aisin Kyushu Co., Ltd. and Aisin Kyushu Casting Co., Ltd., is as follows.
1. Aisin Kyushu Co., Ltd.
・Manufacturing equipment and molds for manufacturing, etc. have been moved out of the factory. On April 23 we began progressively carrying out this company’s production at alternative sites at Aisin Seiki in Aichi Prefecture, other Group company plants, and affiliates in Kyushu. As of May 2 we expect to have production of virtually all the company’s products underway.
・To enable the swift resumption of product supply to our customers, we have been prioritizing our production at alternate sites. We are not yet sure when production at the Aisin Kyushu plant can be resumed.
2. Aisin Kyushu Casting Co., Ltd.
・Since April 27 we have been resuming production on a step-by-step basis, and as of April 29, we are scheduled to recommence all processes in the mass-production of our products.
We are currently looking into the issue of how these events will affect Aisin’s consolidated business results.
Our recovery from the effects of the earthquake is making progress, and the entire Aisin Group will continue making every effort to restore full production and return our business activities to normal. We thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation.
