From risky to necessity – Lamborghini confirms luxury performance SUV

SUVs are quickly becoming a necessity for luxury brands, but the move is not without risk

The promise of the SUV segment has lured in another brand, as Lamborghini outlines concrete manufacturing plans for a production version of its Urus concept. The Italian luxury marque hasn't offered an SUV since the LM002 model exited production after a limited run in 1992, but it has more recently played around with the idea of re-entering the segment. At the 2012 Beijing auto show it displayed a concept SUV under the name Urus.
