Hands off is safer than hands on, says Google

Google’s Chris Urmson maintains that driverless cars are the way to go. By Freddie Holmes

Google’s approach to autonomous driving differs to that of other players such as Ford, General Motors and Nissan. While established OEMs are opting for autonomous driving enabled cars with traditional driving controls like a steering wheel and pedals, Google is pushing its vision for a completely ‘driverless’ car, with no controls whatsoever.
