Group14 raises US$463m, takes control of SK battery venture

Group14 is distinguished by its proprietary silicon technology, which it claims can boost battery density by up to 50%. By Stewart Burnett

Battery materials manufacturer Group14 has closed a US$463m Series D funding round led by SK, with participation from Microsoft, Porsche and others. The US-based company simultaneously acquired full control of its South Korean joint venture, buying out SK's 75% stake in the facility.
