Ford follows in the footsteps of Tesla and Toyota with patent transparency

By making its electrified vehicle patents available for use by its competitors, Ford is hoping to push uptake in the segment

Ford has announced that it will make its patents for electrified vehicle (EV) technology available to its competitors. The OEM says it decided to make the move in the hope of “accelerating industry-wide electrified vehicle development.”
