The European Commission has set out a strategy to curb CO2 emissions from trucks, buses and coaches. Under the new strategy, adopted on 21 May, CVs across Europe will emit lower amounts of carbon dioxide and use less fuel. In Europe, heavy-duty vehicles are responsible for around 25% of CO2 emissions from road transport, and without action, emissions between 2030 and 2050 are predicted to remain at the same unsustainable levels.
