Electric buses are the future of city mobility, says Volvo

Volvo Bus tells Automotive World why its all-new electric bus will be the blueprint for future city mobility

Volvo is currently developing a brand new pure electric bus in the confines of a small workshop based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The bus will commence operation in June 2015 next year, and will be subjected to extensive tests as it travels a route through the city – a route that has been designed especially for the electric bus, with overhead charging systems at both ends. Automotive World sat down with Jessica Sandström, Senior Vice President of City Mobility at Volvo Buses, and Edward Jobson, the Environmental Director at Volvo Buses. Sandström and Jobson strongly believe that the bus will be a blueprint for future city mobility.
