Daimler Trucks to push short-radius distribution EVs

The OEM continues to develop electric vehicle technology for short-radius distribution trucks, writes Michael Nash

In October 2015, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Europe unveiled the findings of a year-long customer trial with its Canter E-Cell trucks, whereby eight of the small electric trucks were used across Portugal. The OEM worked with various companies and government organisations, each of which “reacted positively to the real-life performance of the trucks.” Hoping to build on this, Daimler Trucks has said that it will continue to develop the technology used in the Canter E-Cells, and will start a new trial in Germany.
