CV operators must not ignore the ICE’s emission saving potential

Burning sustainable fuels could be a cost-effective shortcut to carbon-neutral commercial vehicles. By Jack Hunsley

Commercial vehicles are responsible for a significant chunk of the world’s total emissions output. According to figures from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), transport emissions accounted for 22.3% of the EU’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2019. Heavy-duty trucks and buses specifically made up 5.6% of that figure with vans accounting for a further 2.5%. Transitioning these vehicles to low or zero emission tech is vital.
